New Year's Eve 2017 Weather: Cold and rainy in the North, sunny in the South

From January 1, 2017, the North will have showers and thunderstorms, the lowest temperature in the delta region will be around 13-14 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the South will have nice weather, ranging from 24-32 degrees Celsius.

Deep in the cold air mass, with little cloud, and large ground radiation, the temperature in the North this morning dropped sharply. Sin Ho (Lai Chau) was only 3 degrees Celsius, Trung Khanh (Cao Bang) was 4 degrees Celsius. During the day, the temperature in the North will gradually increase, the highest is 22-23 degrees Celsius, sunny. Due to the weakening cold air mass, from tonight the temperature in the North will increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the plains.14-16 degrees C, mountainous areas 11-13 degrees C.

The weather pattern is cold at night and early morning, sunny during the day will last until tomorrow. From January 1, 2017, the North will have showers and thunderstorms due to the impact of a low trough in the westerly wind zone moving from Upper Laos, combined with cold air moving eastward bringing moisture from the sea. The highest temperature is forecast to be 22-23 degrees Celsius, the plains will be around 13-14 degrees Celsius.

Not only Hanoi but also some entertainment spots such as Ha Giang, Ha Long, Sa Pa (Lao Cai) also had rain, the temperature in some mountainous areas was below 10 degrees Celsius. Experts advise people to consider their entertainment plans on the first day of the new year in the North due to unfavorable weather.

The northeast monsoon combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances will cause rain in the Quang Tri - Khanh Hoa area from December 30, 2016 to January 1, 2017 with an amount of 50-150 mm/period. Rivers from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa are likely to experience a flood. Rain with cold air will push the temperature at night and in the morning in the Thanh Hoa - Quang Nam area down to below 20 degrees Celsius.

The Southern Central Highlands and the South have the best weather during the New Year. It doesn’t rain, and the temperature in Da Lat is only 12-19 degrees Celsius; in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and Ca Mau, the lowest is 24 degrees Celsius and the highest is 32-33 degrees Celsius.
