Gibb stopped at a warehouse and let the two dogs run around, then he heard yelping.
"My dog Sasha was screaming in pain so I ran over and found something wrapped around her. I punched the animal that was attacking Sasha in the head and then found out it was a cougar,"Gibb said. He scared the cougar away, then tended to a groaning, bleeding Sasha.
Meanwhile, the cougar began to keep an eye onMongo, Gibb's second dog. The owner was able to act quickly to stop the cougar.
"I could see the cougar stalking Mongo so I stopped him and started waving my arms and yelling at him. I called my brother and a friend to come help. I finally found the nearest, biggest stick and turned around and beat the cougar away," Gibb said.
The veterinarian saidSasha was not seriously injured. Gibb said he acted like that because he considered the dog his own child.
