Robbers who stripped a US TV star of her belongings were apprehended.

More than three months after the robbery, the French anti-gang unit tracked down and apprehended the entire gang of 16 suspects who allegedly stole all the jewelry from American reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

According to Le Figaro, on January 9th, French police announced the arrest and questioning of 16 individuals in connection with the robbery of jewelry from American reality TV star Kim Kardashian at a luxury hotel in Paris in early October last year.

According to the announcement, police launched raids this morning in multiple locations, including the capital Paris and several provinces. The arrests were made based on DNA traces found at the scene of the robbery.

According to LCI, thanks to DNA traces found on the tools used in the robbery, police were able to trace the jewelry buyers back to the robbers.

Police said the attackers used guns to assault actress Kim Kardashian and stole jewelry worth more than 9 million euros in the early hours of October 3, 2016, in Paris.

According to the investigation, five masked men wearing police-style jackets threatened the doorman at the luxury Pourtalès Hotel with guns. Three of them stayed downstairs to keep watch while the other two broke into the luxury apartment where Kim Kardashian was staying during Paris Fashion Week.

The robbers pointed a gun at the 35-year-old American star's head, then gagged and tied her hands and feet before pushing her into the bathroom. They stole a €4 million ring and a €5 million jewelry box, along with two iPhones. The robbers then fled the scene on bicycles.

On the morning of October 4th, a passerby found a diamond-encrusted cross pendant worth up to 30,000 euros in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Police said it was part of the jewelry the robbers had dropped while fleeing.

At the time of the robbery, in addition to Kim Kardashian and the doorman, one of Kim's stylists was also present at the apartment complex.

The police initially thought she was the one who raised the alarm. However, the investigation revealed that Kim herself had untied herself and called her bodyguard, Pascal Duvie, who was accompanying Kim's two sisters to the nightclub at the time.

According to LCI, the robbers were all individuals with criminal records, with an average age of 50, including one who was as old as 72.

The arrest of the gang will help mitigate the impact on tourism in the French capital, as the recent security situation, particularly the incident involving the American star, has deterred many wealthy tourists.
