Le Van Tam, from Hamlet 10, Duc Son Commune, said: "During the off-season for farming, the whole village spreads out everywhere to find work, doing whatever jobs are available. For the past few months, I've been working as a construction worker, on a daily wage basis. Although it's hard work, it provides a decent income; I earn about 200,000 dong a day." |

| Ms. Dau Thi My, from Hamlet 6, Khai Son Commune, takes advantage of her free time during the agricultural off-season to work as a bricklayer for a factory in the hamlet. She explained: "My family is struggling financially. If we only relied on a few acres of rice paddies and a few dozen chickens, we wouldn't have enough to live on, so I have to work as a hired laborer. My main job is pushing and stacking bricks. If I work diligently, I can earn between 150,000 and 170,000 dong a day." |

After the hard work of the harvest season, the people here go to harvest banana leaves to earn extra income. For her, catching freshwater crabs is a side job, but it's the main source of income for her family. Each day, Nhung can catch 3-4 kg of freshwater crabs. At a price of 50,000 VND/kg, she can earn 150,000-200,000 VND per day. That means she earns over 3 million VND per month from crab catching. |
