The first exhibition of Vietnam's National Treasures.

In order to contribute to honoring and promoting the value of national treasures, the National Museum of History is organizing a special exhibition for the first time, "National Treasures of Vietnam," which will take place from January 10, 2017.

The exhibition will provide visitors with an overview of treasures from the Dong Son culture, dating back over 2,000 years, the eras of Dai Viet civilization and feudal dynasties up to the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, along with fascinating historical and cultural stories. This will enhance understanding of aesthetic thinking, creativity, and skillful craftsmanship, thereby encouraging patriotism and national pride, and contributing to the preservation, safeguarding, and promotion of Vietnamese cultural traditions.

The exhibition will showcase the treasures along with related scientific documents (drawings, pattern impressions, illustrations, etc.), while also utilizing modern techniques, applying 3D technology in presentations, and presenting clips introducing the discovery and research process, as well as expert opinions.

Each national treasure is a precious heritage containing messages from the past, the essence of Vietnam's rich, diverse, and distinctive culture. These artifacts represent different historical periods, partly reflecting the long-standing historical and cultural landscape of the Vietnamese nation.

With their outstanding historical value, uniqueness, and extreme rarity, and based on research into the criteria for national treasures, the National Museum of History has proposed to the National Council for Cultural Heritage to select a number of artifacts for recognition as national treasures. Through three selection rounds, the Prime Minister has signed decisions recognizing 16 artifacts currently held by the National Museum of History as national treasures, out of a total of more than 200,000 documents and artifacts.

Several valuable artifacts will be on display in the upcoming exhibition "National Treasures of Vietnam":
