An old man living in Junlian County, Sichuan Province, China, suddenly woke up after being in a coffin, scaring everyone around him.

According to The Paper, the man's name is Hoang Quang Van, 76 years old. He has esophageal cancer and has been bedridden without eating or drinking for more than half a month.

"He hadn't eaten or drunk anything for a long time. We dressed him up to prepare for his funeral after discovering his limbs were stiff and his whole body was cold. We were sure he had passed away," his family said.

According to local custom, people would put tea, salt, rice, and beans into the old man’s mouth and invite a shaman to perform the funeral procedures. But unexpectedly, the next scene would surprise many people.

Around 5 pm, the shaman discovered a gap in the coffin, but he could not close it. Feeling strange, he removed the coffin lid and looked inside and saw a raised hand, the old man was staring with his eyes open. The shaman screamed in fear.

At this time, the people around gathered around, they saw the old man raised both hands, opened his eyes, while one shoe had fallen off.

"We quickly took him to a chair and wiped his mouth with tea. Then he started talking angrily: 'Tomorrow, just take me to the hill and bury me,'" his family said.

On January 9, the old man still took medicine and ate normally, but he stopped talking.
