Through the eyes of Syrian children, war appears at its most fierce and brutal, but it is also the driving force for many beautiful dreams.

Brian McCarty is an American photographer who has worked for famous animation companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Since 2011, McCarty has been in contact with children in Syria to find out their thoughts on the civil war in their country. McCarty asked the children to draw pictures to describe the war, then used toys to recreate the scene. In the photo is "Shoot and Beat", depicting the scene of a Syrian being captured and taken away by two soldiers, witnessed by a child.
