This afternoon press conference announced the results of the investigation into the murder of the Yen Bai Party Secretary.

On the afternoon of December 26, Yen Bai Provincial Police will hold a press conference to announce the results of the investigation into the murder of two Yen Bai provincial leaders.

At 3:00 p.m. on December 26, Yen Bai Provincial Police will hold a press conference to announce the results of the investigation into the murder case that occurred at the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee Office and the Organizing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee on the morning of August 18.

According to information provided by Yen Bai provincial authorities at the press conference on the afternoon of August 18 (held a few hours after this serious case occurred): on the morning of August 18, as planned, Yen Bai province will open the 2nd Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council.

Before the opening ceremony, at around 7am, the suspect went to the room of the Provincial Party Secretary Pham Duy Cuong and shot him with a military gun. After that, the suspect moved more than 150m to the Organizing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee and shot Mr. Ngo Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the People's Council and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee. The suspect then committed suicide in Mr. Ngo Ngoc Tuan's room.

The suspect was identified as Do Cuong Minh, Head of the Yen Bai Provincial Forest Protection Department.

Immediately after the discovery, Yen Bai provincial leaders urgently directed that Mr. Pham Duy Cuong, Mr. Ngo Ngoc Tuan, and Mr. Do Cuong Minh be taken to Yen Bai General Hospital for emergency treatment. At the same time, they requested the Ministry of Health and major hospitals to provide support. However, at 1:05 p.m. on August 18, Mr. Pham Duy Cuong and Mr. Ngo Ngoc Tuan had stopped breathing. Do Cuong Minh died later.

The Investigation Police Agency - Yen Bai Provincial Police has conducted an investigation and has now concluded the investigation of the case. To inform the press, media and the public of the results of the investigation, Yen Bai Provincial Police will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon (December 26).
