Sputnik reported on January 9th, citing Yuri Belyi, Director General of the VVTikhomirov Scientific Research Institute for Instrument Manufacturing, that the new Buk-M3 has superior capabilities compared to all other existing medium-range mobile systems in the world.

In the new missile design, the inventors have increased the missile load: instead of 4 missiles, each self-propelled launcher now has 6 ready-to-fire missiles, and each array now has 12 instead of 8 as before.

These changes enhance the combat effectiveness of the systems in repelling large-scale air attacks.

In addition, the Buk-M3 also expands the range of target engagement – ​​from aerodynamic targets to tactical missiles and cruise missiles.

The new complex is more robust and better protected from any jamming devices.

General Director Yuri Belyi emphasized that at this time, there are no advanced medium-range missiles in the world that are as effective as the Buk-M3.

In the same category is the European SAMP-T combination, but it only achieves a "limited level".

The 9M317M missile for the Buk-M3 system is also very impressive, with tactical and technical performance nearly doubled compared to the Buk-M2, correspondingly increasing its effectiveness in intercepting enemy tactical ballistic missiles and cruise missiles.
