(Baonghean) - On January 19th, Quy Chau district held the inauguration ceremony for the Chieng Ngam temple - a relic located within the famous Hang Bua complex of historical sites and scenic spots in western Nghe An province.

After more than three months of construction, the Chieng Ngam temple in Hong Tien 2 village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau district) has been completed. The temple is dedicated to three guardian deities: Xieu Bo, Xieu Ke, and Xieu Luong, who were instrumental in establishing the village and district in the Chieng Ngam area. Originally built in 1924, the temple was damaged and became a ruin due to various historical events.

By 2006, the Chieng Ngam temple was restored, and during the annual Hang Bua Festival, it became the venue for the ceremonial parts of the festival. On August 22, 2016, the Provincial People's Committee approved the project to upgrade and expand the Chieng Ngam temple with dimensions of 12.59m in length, 6.98m in width, and 5.83m in height, with components made of ironwood, and a total investment of over 3.262 billion VND.

The Chieng Ngam Temple has been upgraded and expanded to meet the aspirations and spiritual needs of the local people, demonstrating the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," providing an opportunity to promote the image of the temple to tourists from near and far, and contributing to the solemnity and sacredness of the Hang Bua festival.
