Successful rescue of fishing boat and 8 fishermen in distress at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 22, a fishing boat and 8 fishermen in distress at sea were rescued by the Coast Guard of Squadron 2, Nghe An Province Border Guard, and brought safely to the pier of Squadron 2.

At 6:00 p.m. on January 20, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province received information from Ben Thuy radio station that the fishing boat with registration number: NA 95413 TS owned by Mr. Tran Van Tai, born in 1989, residing in Hamlet 5, Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, was drifting at sea.

The ship with 8 crew members was fishing at sea at coordinates 18033' North - 106045' East (about 70 nautical miles from shore) when the engine broke down and the ship lost control. Meanwhile, the weather at sea was bad, affecting the safety of the ship and the lives of the fishermen.

The ship owner requested emergency rescue. After receiving the news, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the coastal units to coordinate with local authorities and the family of the ship in distress to notify the owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea of ​​the location of the ship in distress so that they can come to assist and search and rescue.

At 10:00 a.m. on January 21, the Nghe An Border Guard Command dispatched CN 09 ship number BP 06.19.01 consisting of 15 officers and soldiers of Squadron 2, Provincial Border Guard, led by Captain Le Xuan Huong, Deputy Squadron Commander, to conduct a search and rescue mission. By 4:00 p.m. on the same day, rescue ship BP 06.19.01 had approached the distressed ship and organized rescue and towing to bring the distressed ship and fishermen safely ashore.

Immediately after reaching shore, officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Border Guard Squadron 2 encouraged and visited the fishermen, and at the same time hoped that the fishermen would quickly overcome the problem and continue to take their boats out to sea.
