Arrest of subjects disguising crystal meth in tea bags

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 12, the Criminal Police Team of Vinh City Police arrested 4 subjects and seized 4.9 kg of crystal meth.

While on duty on the Vinh City bypass, the task force of the police investigation team for social order crimes, Vinh City Police received a report that a taxi with license plate 37A 290.90 was traveling from Ha Tinh to Vinh carrying 4 people with signs of drug trafficking.

Vinh City police deployed a checkpoint to verify. When the taxi arrived at the Ben Thuy 2 bridge toll station in Hung Loi commune (Hung Nguyen district), the city police's criminal police task force asked the car to stop for inspection.

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered a backpack containing a plastic bag shaped like a tea bag on the footrest of the back seat of the car. Upon inspection, the entire shipment was determined to be methamphetamine with a total weight of 4.9 kg.

The authorities arrested four people in the taxi, including Nguyen Thi Thao (born in 1970), Tong Thi Trang (born in 1970), Tong Nhat Tan (born in 1976), all residing in Quang Trung ward (Vinh city), and Nguyen Thi Sam (born in 1976), residing in Le Mao ward.

Currently, Vinh City police are completing the case file to handle the above subjects according to the provisions of law./.
