Coach Nguyen Duc Thang: 'Luck did not smile upon us'

(Baonghean.vn) - At the post-match press conference, XSKT Can Tho's coach Vu Quang Bao had reason to be satisfied with the point earned at Vinh Stadium. Meanwhile, SLNA's coach Nguyen Duc Thang expressed regret at losing the victory in the final minutes.

Commenting on the match, coach Vu Quang Bao expressed considerable dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions, stating: "I am not very happy with the refereeing today because, in my opinion, they overlooked a penalty for XSKT Can Tho when an SLNA player handled the ball."

After scoring, our team scored again in injury time, a result of the whole team's effort. Today, SLNA had more opportunities. Despite the difficulties with the weather and pitch conditions, with our simple and determined playing style, I am satisfied with the result achieved.

In this match, our two foreign players, Jose Nsi and Kisekka Hen, still played well. Even after the loss to Long An in the previous round, I have nothing to blame them for; they gave their all, even though neither of them scored today.

Regarding coach Nguyen Duc Thang, the new head coach of SLNA shared: "On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank the fans who were present at Vinh Stadium to support SLNA today. Although this match did not bring the desired result, our players tried their best today. That's football; luck hasn't been on SLNA's side yet, and we have to accept that."

In SLNA's first match of the 2017 V.League season at Vinh Stadium, only about 4,000 spectators attended. A point against XSKT Can Tho wasn't a terrible result. And this match somewhat showed the integration and improved fighting spirit of the players from Nghe An province.

With a bit more luck in finishing chances and key players like Nguyen Manh and Ngoc Hai showcasing their experience, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang would certainly have secured his first victory since taking on his new role.
