The 'kind' son-in-law stole 7 kg of gold from his father-in-law.
Quang khai took advantage of the noon when his wife's parents were not home to sneak into the bedroom to dig for gold and then clean up the scene as before.
Recently, public opinion has been particularly interested in the case of Mr. HVH (Chu Prong town, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai) reporting the loss of 7 kg of gold, with no trace left at the scene.
Gold digger father meets "carver" son-in-law
Initially, many people who heard the news also expressed doubts about the authenticity of the incident because Mr. H's family in the locality was not well-off.

However, after nearly a month of the incident, the police confirmed the information and identified the suspect, then everything was revealed to be true. And more surprisingly, the thief was the gentle son-in-law Ngo Van Quang (35 years old, from Ly Nhan, Ha Nam).
A few years ago, his only daughter married Quang and gave birth to a 3-year-old child. Quang is very gentle and has no criminal record.
After getting married, Quang devoted himself to business, opening a phone repair and sales shop. Mr. H.'s family life was turned upside down after November 27, 2016, when he reported the loss of 7 kg of gold.
The strange thing is that when the investigation agency went to the scene, they were quite surprised because "the place where the gold was hidden was buried under the foot of the bed and covered with bricks, and no unusual traces were found after inspection." However, from the small detail in the homeowner's statement that "the day he hid the gold, he asked his son-in-law to borrow a brick cutter," the police agency changed the direction of the investigation.
But the most suspected person was absent. Quang left home with his 3-year-old child after a fight with his wife. All contact with Quang was cut off.
When leaving, Quang only brought his identification documents, even leaving his phone behind.
After nearly a month of almost hopeless searching, the investigation agency received news that he was being treated at the Psychiatric Department of a hospital in Hanoi. Through medical records, it was discovered that the suspect “had no illness”. He was then brought back to Gia Lai, with solid evidence, and confessed to his crime.
Sold 5 "golden cakes" for 780 million VND
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Ngoc Anh, Chief of Staff (Gia Lai Provincial Police), the case is still being investigated by the investigation agency, determining the amount of gold and prosecuting the responsibilities of those involved. Accordingly, the police agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained Ngo Van Quang for the act of property theft.
At the police station, Quang confessed that he took advantage of the noon time when his wife’s parents were not home to sneak into the bedroom to steal gold and then clean up the crime scene as before. Then, he used the excuse of arguing with his wife, and took his young child more than 1,000 km to escape to the northern provinces.
He continuously moved through many provinces and cities to limit the pursuit of the investigation agency and then entered the psychiatric department pretending to be sick.
During his escape, the suspect took 5 “gold bars” and sold them for 780 million VND to spend, and sent a portion of the money and the remaining gold to his brother in Thanh Xuan district (Hanoi) for safekeeping. When Quang was arrested, his brother went to Gia Lai Provincial Police to hand over 21 pieces of gold-colored metal and 780 million VND.
On the day his son-in-law stole the gold and left home, Mr. H. did not notice the theft. It was not until the next day that he felt suspicious and pried open the bricks to see that the gold had “evaporated.” Quang and his wife’s house was not far from his father-in-law’s house. Because he trusted him, he left the house without being wary of his son-in-law’s behavior.
