Can Linh Pagoda supports policy families and the poor to celebrate Tet

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 22, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with Can Linh Pagoda to organize a gift-giving ceremony for policy families, poor households, disabled children and orphans in the city and districts.

Responding to the program "Tet for the poor" and the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh, in recent days, Can Linh Pagoda has had many activities to visit, give gifts, and wish Tet to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services, poor families, families in difficult circumstances, disabled children, orphans and poor children who strive to study well in the districts of Hung Nguyen, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, Nam Dan...

The total number of gifts awarded is nearly 350, each gift is worth from 300,000 to 1 million VND in cash (depending on the recipient), with gifts including rice, sticky rice, and candy.

At the Tet gift-giving ceremony held this morning at the pagoda, through the representative of the Fatherland Front of Nghia Dan district, Can Linh Pagoda presented 105 gifts to the poor in the district; presented 115 gifts to the representative of the leaders of Quynh Thang commune (Quynh Luu district); donated money, rice, and sticky rice to the provincial Vocational Training Center for Disabled Children and the Hien Luong Center for Disabled and Orphans (worth more than 13 million VND/center).

In addition, 30 poor households in Cua Nam ward and Nghi Duc commune also received Tet gifts from the City Fatherland Front Committee and Can Linh Pagoda, including 500,000 VND in cash, rice, sticky rice and candy/portion. In particular, the family of martyr Tran Duc Ban, hamlet 12, Hung Loc commune (Vinh city), in addition to Tet gifts, also received 10 million VND from Can Linh Pagoda to build a house. Some children affected by Agent Orange and orphans received gifts and 1 million VND in cash from Can Linh Pagoda.

The total amount of money and gifts that Can Linh Temple supported for the beneficiaries on this occasion is about 400 million VND; thereby contributing with all levels, sectors and the whole society to take care of the poor, policy families; everyone, every family is happy, warm, prosperous and happy.
