At the time of admission to the hospital on the afternoon of February 1, Mr. Tinh was in shock due to trauma, with 1/3 of his left leg amputated, his left femur broken, his left arm injured, his blood pressure dropping, and he had lost a lot of blood. After a surgery lasting more than 3 hours, the doctors created 1/3 of his left leg amputation, performed surgery on the fractured bone, and transfused more than 1 liter of red blood cells and 600ml of plasma to Mr. Tinh.
“The patient is no longer on a ventilator, but after surgery his consciousness is still hazy and he is in a state of panic. He does not yet know that he has lost his mother, wife, and child, so he often asks to go home when he wakes up,” said Dr. Anh.

Outside the hospital corridor, Tinh's relatives and driver Pham Van Lai's family regularly sent people to take turns taking care of Tinh. Mr. Pham Van Ha - Lai's younger brother said that Lai bought a truck to transport goods for hire in recent years. Lai's wife also works as a hired trader, and the couple has 3 children. Lai usually drives very carefully.
On the day of the accident, Mr. Lai drove a truck carrying his wife and children to his mother's hometown in Thanh An commune (Thanh Chuong district) to celebrate Tet.
“When we heard about the accident, my family was very shocked and my legs went weak because the accident was something no one wanted for either family. Up to now, we have the responsibility to regularly go back and forth to take care of the funeral of Tinh’s three relatives and treat Tinh, hoping that the family will soon overcome the loss and pain,” Ha confided.
Before that, Mr. Tinh and his wife were driving their mother and son on two motorbikes across Ro bridge when they collided with a car with license plate 37C - 06202 driven by Mr. Pham Van Lai (41 years old), from Hung Loc commune, Vinh city. The car's collision caused Mrs. Xuan (Mr. Tinh's mother), Ms. Hue (Mr. Tinh's wife) and Huy (son) to fly over the bridge railing and fall into the riverbank. Mrs. Xuan, Ms. Hue and her son died at the scene. Mr. Vo Van Tinh's leg was severed, his body lying on the bridge, his leg falling right where Mrs. Xuan died.
Currently, Mr. Lai has been detained by the police for investigation and further investigation of the case.
