What does billionaire Warren Buffett do after work?
The billionaire reads up to 500 pages a day, enjoys exercising, playing bridge, eating hamburgers and playing the ukulele.
Warren Buffett is the only person who can attract thousands of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders to the small town of Omaha, Nebraska (USA). Every decade, he multiplies his assets by several times and currently owns 67 billion USD.
There are countless books and thousands of articles written about how Buffett made his fortune. But not many mention what Buffett does in his spare time. Business Insider believes that this is not surprising. Because in a world of fierce competition and people crazy about work, people are more interested in how Buffett made his fortune than his hobbies. However, it is Buffett's attitude towards management, investing and wealth that helps him balance life and work. Here are 5 things Warren Buffett does every day.
1. Read 500 pages of a book

Once, when asked how to become smarter, Buffett picked up a stack of paper and said, "Read 500 pages like this every day. That's how you accumulate knowledge."
Buffett estimates that he spends 80% of his day reading. At the office, he reads financial reports and trade journals. At home, he reads newspapers and books. "I read more, think more, and make less impulsive decisions than most people in my profession," he says. This means that the more you read, the more information you have, and the less impulsive you become.
2. Exercise
Buffett says the secret to staying young and healthy is to "eat like a 6-year-old." He drinks five cans of Coca-Cola a day. At 85, he still enjoys hamburgers, steaks, hash browns and ice cream.
In 2007, at age 77, his doctor gave him two choices: "Eat better or exercise." Buffett chose exercise because it seemed "less painful." That simple change helped Buffett improve his health. After beating prostate cancer, he still looks healthy and happy.
3. Be grateful and don't waste
Buffett is one of the world's greatest philanthropists. His Giving Pledge brings together many billionaires and the world's richest people. They agree to donate the majority of their assets to charity after their death.
"If you are in the 1% luckiest people in the world, you have to take responsibility and think about the remaining 99%," he said.
Buffett is also famously frugal. He lives in the same house he bought for $31,500 in 1958. He also likes to invite investors who visit him in Omaha to lunch at McDonald's.
4. Play games that require patience
Buffett admits that he manages his vast fortune like a game. He likes to play financial mind games to help him better understand his investments.
He likes to play bridge to sharpen his wits. Buffett likes it so much that he sometimes pays to sit with retirees at a small shopping center in Omaha. He considers bridge the most intellectual game there is: "Every 10 minutes you see a new situation. Bridge is about the win/loss ratio. You almost always have to calculate when you play."
5. Have a hobby just for fun

For Wall Street analysts, working 100-plus hours a week makes it nearly impossible to pursue a hobby. But Warren Buffett does it. He's adept at playing the ukulele and even writes his own music. He's posted videos of himself playing with Bon Jovi on YouTube.
