Traffic accidents spike on the third day of Tet, 38 people dead

According to the Traffic Police Department, on the third day of Tet (January 30), there were 60 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 38 people and injuring 69. Of these, 59 road accidents occurred, killing 38 people and injuring 68. There was 1 railway accident, injuring 1 person. There were no accidents on waterways.

In total, during the 5-day Tet holiday (from January 26 to January 30), there were 192 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 118 people and injuring 197. Traffic accidents mainly occurred on roads with 187 cases, killing 115 people and injuring 194. There were 5 railway accidents, killing 3 people and injuring 3 people. There were no traffic accidents on inland waterways.

On the third day of Tet, the road traffic police inspected and handled 1,818 cases of traffic safety violations; temporarily detained 13 cars, 707 motorbikes; revoked 71 driving licenses. The water police inspected and handled 8 cases of traffic safety violations./.
