Creating green space at the Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Port cluster

To prepare for the 2017 Tree Planting Festival, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued a plan very early, from December 21, 2016 (Plan 776/KH-UBND), in which specific tasks were assigned to relevant sectors, localities, units and enterprises to coordinate implementation. Upon receiving this information, the leaders of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company were really excited, demonstrating the province's support for the development of the enterprise. Immediately after receiving the plan from the Provincial People's Committee, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company deployed and assigned specific tasks to functional departments; carefully prepared the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho".

Mr. Dinh Quoc Quyen - General Director of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company added: “We realize that this is an important event, in the launching ceremony there are representatives from the Central, province, district and other sectors attending; therefore, we have carefully assigned the work of organizing the reception of delegates and the conditions for the ceremony. This event has a great encouragement meaning for the unit when the company advocates building the Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Seaport Complex into a dynamic economic zone with green space, friendly to the environment”.

Receiving the task from the company, the Management Board of Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Seaport assigned staff to prepare the stages and sections for the Tet tree planting ceremony. Right before the Lunar New Year, all work was urged and prepared in terms of the location of the organization, tree planting diagram and pre-dug holes.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tai - Construction Executive Director of Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Seaport shared: “In addition to speeding up the construction of project items to complete and put into use soon, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has a policy of promoting tree planting in the area. As planned, the company will invest billions of VND to plant thousands of trees in the Cement Grinding Station and the onshore service area of ​​the seaport. Therefore, when the project cluster is about to be completed, the People's Committee of Nghe An province chose this place to launch the Tree Planting Festival, which has urged us, the staff and workers, to strive to complete our tasks excellently. It is expected that in the Tree Planting Festival launching ceremony, there will be about 250 delegates coming to the unit's area, so we will closely coordinate with Nghi Loc district and the functional forces to carefully prepare for this event…”.

Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station area is being urgently completed.

The Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Seaport complex are connected to serve the Song Lam Cement Factory in Bai Son Commune (Do Luong) under The Vissai Cement Group. Currently, the cement factory has a stable production capacity of nearly 13,000 tons of clinker per day, so the two connecting projects are being accelerated in 3 shifts per day with the participation of 700 workers. According to the plan, in the first quarter of 2017, the Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Seaport will be completed and put into use.

In the immediate future, Nghi Thiet deep-water port, when put into use, will effectively serve the transportation of raw materials, accessories, and cement products of Song Lam Cement Factory. In the long term, this port cluster will function as a general port area, meeting the needs of import and export of goods for businesses in Nghe An province and neighboring provinces in the North Central region; circulating a part of transit goods from Laos and Northeastern Thailand. These projects will become the driving force for economic development, import and export of goods, increasing revenue for the whole country in general, the North Central region and Nghe An province in particular.
