How to get 6 job offers before graduating
5 months before graduation, Suneil Kamath received 6 offers and here are 4 tips for you to successfully job hunt.
Start early
Each company has a different hiring season. Some start in July and August, while others start in May. The summer before I graduated, I made a list of my favorite companies in an excel sheet. In it, I listed the deadlines for submitting applications and the necessary documents to complete my application.
Connect, connect and connect
Meeting the right people can help you get an interview or a job offer. In fact, most of the companies I got interviews with had people I knew there.

If you are sincere enough, people will be willing to talk to you and give you advice and recruitment information. |
By now, some of you are probably thinking to yourself, “I don’t have that advantage.” If so, start building those relationships. Get out there with your friends, teachers, alumni, and coworkers. They may know people at the company you’re trying to get an interview with. If you’ve tried that and it doesn’t work, try sending random emails to your teachers. If you’re sincere enough, people will be willing to talk to you, help you, and give you advice.
Quality over quantity
Don’t just send out applications to every company without thinking about it. Take the time to ask yourself what you really want to do in the future and only apply to positions and companies that support you in achieving that goal. Furthermore, depending on the position and company you are applying to, tailor your cover letter and resume accordingly. This way, the employer can get a sense of how your abilities and skills match the position and whether you are a good fit for the company culture.
Expand your options
Every year, magazines feature the most desirable companies to work for. And of course, they are great places to apply. However, they are not the only places where you can learn, contribute, and gain great experience. There are many other companies that can offer similar experiences. So, keep your options open.
If you do the things I just listed, I guarantee you will get great offers like I did.
