Three days before his birthday, Cong Phuong suffered a heavy defeat. |
Goals: Hoang Vu Samson 9', 48', Silva 58'
During the away match against Hanoi, coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan decided to pull Cong Phuong back to play in midfield and gave him the captain's armband. In the stands, hundreds of away fans shouted the name of the Nghe An striker and wished him a happy birthday three days in advance. However, that encouragement was not enough to make Cong Phuong play more enthusiastically. The former captain of the Vietnam U19 team continued to play poorly, as in the two losses to Da Nang and Hai Phong.
Defender Vu Van Thanh of the Vietnam national team was pushed up to play as a center forward in this match. However, this bold move by the mountain town team did not bring any results as the player born in 1996 completely disappeared in front of Hanoi's experienced defense.
The home team's defenders did an excellent job of blocking HAGL's strikers. Meanwhile, on the front line, the defending champions' strikers were not to be outdone, scoring three goals.
Hanoi started well, opening the scoring early thanks to a simple combination. After a long pass from Silva, Gonzalo headed the ball to Hoang Vu Samson, who ran down and fired a powerful shot into To Vinh Loi's net. After a long period of treatment for a lung-related illness, Hanoi's naturalized player returned with great vigor. He completed his double just three minutes into the second half.

HAGL still has not got any points in V-League 2017. |
Leading by two goals, Hanoi still had no intention of stopping. The capital team continuously attacked, forcing HAGL into a difficult defense. The third goal came to the home team as a matter of course, the scorer was Silva with an accurate header.
Defeating HAGL, Hanoi surpassed Hai Phong to rise to second place. Both have six points after three matches, but the defending champions have a better goal difference. Meanwhile, HAGL continues to be at the bottom, losing all three matches, scoring one goal and conceding six.
