In an interview with Ukraine's Radio Vesti, former Georgian president and former Odessa governor Mikhail Saakashvili spoke about the European Union's "debt" to Ukraine.

Ông Saakashvili đề nghị Kiev đặt điều kiện với EU.
Mr Saakashvili suggested that Kiev set conditions with the EU.

Mr. Saakashvili said that Ukraine "saved Europe from the most aggressive army" so the EU "owes" Kiev.

"Now it is the right of Ukraine not just to beg and plead: 'Please don't leave us alone'. On the contrary, to tell them: 'You have to do this, this, this,' because the European Union and Europe as a whole cannot exist without Ukraine," the politician said.

He also predicted that Ukraine will become a European "superpower" in the future. According to him, in 5-15 years, the country can become a "strong player" in Europe.
