According to the indictment, on the evening of January 19, 2016, Vo Van Thanh was driving a truck with a Laotian license plate, transporting agricultural products to the company. When turning from Le Viet Thuat Street to the company headquarters (Hung Loc Commune, Vinh City), due to lack of observation, Thanh's car collided with the motorbike driven by Nguyen Thi Tho (born in 1992), causing Tho to fall and be run over by Thanh's car, killing her on the spot.

At the trial, Vo Van Thanh said that at that time, it was raining heavily and the rearview mirror was blurred, so even though he had turned on his turn signal, he did not see Ms. Tho driving in the same direction as him.

After the incident, with the support of the company, Thanh compensated the victim’s family 100 million VND. At the trial, the legal representative of the victim asked the court to consider and reduce Thanh’s sentence.

Vo Van Thanh was granted a Class C driver's license, however, while driving on the road, due to lack of observation, he caused the death of Ms. Tho. The panel of judges determined that this was entirely the defendant's fault. After a comprehensive review of the case, the panel sentenced Vo Van Thanh to 6 months in prison./.
