In an interview with Sputnik, many Russian experts predicted that the Year of the Rooster 2017 will be a successful year for Vietnam.

Honorary President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association Evgeny Glazunov predicted that this year will bring many new successes in Vietnam's socio-economic development as well as improving Russia-Vietnam relations.

He stressed that Vietnam is currently a role model for Southeast Asian countries and will continue to hold the leading position in economic development in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as well as contribute more to the development of this organization.

Journalist and historian Piotr Tsvetov believes that this year, Vietnam will achieve more success than in 2016.

He affirmed that the relationships Vietnam builds with the outside world will be stable and promising.

Vietnam's leaders are taking many effective steps to address internal problems.

According to him, Vietnam's difficulties are less than other countries. He wished that 2017 would bring the Vietnamese people good health, happiness, prosperity and stability.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Russian Veterans Association Nikolai Kolesnik said that the achievements Vietnam achieved in 2016 will be inherited and continued to be promoted this year.

He believes that Vietnam will maintain the pace of change and rise to even greater heights. He wishes Vietnamese veterans and all Vietnamese people good health, happiness, peace and prosperity in all aspects in the Year of the Rooster.

Professor Vladimir Kolotov, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute at St. Petersburg State University, commented that the year of the Fire Monkey was a relatively difficult year for Vietnam, but Vietnam avoided trouble.

Vietnam has taken advantage of that properly to increase the country's economic and military potential.

He emphasized: “Vietnam is applying President Ho Chi Minh's wonderful thought of "using the unchanging to respond to all changes," a motto that the country is applying very successfully to solve all problems to maintain and enhance stability in the process of global transformation.

In recent decades, Vietnam has effectively applied President Ho Chi Minh's strategic principle of making more friends and fewer enemies.

Thanks to that policy, the country's reputation in the international arena has been significantly enhanced."

On the occasion of the New Year, Professor Kolotov wished the Vietnamese people good health, happiness and continued success in building a peaceful, civilized and developed Vietnam; at the same time, he wished that the potential in the relationship between Moscow and Hanoi would be promoted in specific projects, increasing trade and tourist flows from Russia to Vietnam as well as from Vietnam to Russia./.
