Dien Chau discovered 116 cases of food safety violations

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 16, Dien Chau district summarized food safety work in 2016 and deployed tasks for 2017.

In Dien Chau district, there are 2,920 establishments producing, processing and trading food. In the past year, the district has resolutely implemented food safety assurance work: organizing 47 training courses and providing 39 tapes, 6,000 leaflets, nearly 200 news articles on food safety, at the same time organizing 6 inspection teams to 189 establishments, handling 12 establishments violating food safety, imposing fines of 41.5 million VND.

The authorities also caught 116 violations, destroyed 12.8 tons of animal products, 77,000 poultry, 34,000 poultry eggs, 800 tons of apple snails... administratively handled 339 million VND.

The conference also set out 12 tasks for 2017, continuing to further strengthen inspection and handling of violations; doing well the work of propaganda, training and inspection of State management on food safety in 39 communes and towns.
