Speaking to far-right leaders from Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands in Koblenz, Germany, Le Pen said: “We are witnessing the end of one world and the birth of another. I am not saying that every country must leave the euro zone… However, we must leave open the possibility if a country wants to leave.” She also expressed her desire for “border control, monetary independence, and restoring a voice to the people.”

Ms. Le Pen, the leader of the anti-EU and anti-immigration National Front (FN), had previously affirmed that Europe was a key element of her election program, with criticisms directed at the EU and the euro. Prior to this, Ms. Le Pen had repeatedly stated that France should leave the EU.
The French presidential election will be held in two rounds on April 23rd and May 7th. According to a poll by the BVA polling center and Salesforce, published on December 7th last year, Le Pen will advance to the second round along with her opponent – former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon.
