Chelsea win big in FA Cup third round
Conte's men beat Second Division side Peterborough United 4-1 at home despite captain John Terry receiving a straight red card.
This is the first match John Terry has started since October. Antonio Conte made nine changes to the starting lineup in this match compared to the 0-2 defeat to Tottenham in the last round of the Premier League.

Peterborough were the first to create danger, with Asmir Begovic making a brilliant save to deny Lee Angol's header, saving Chelsea from a clear goal.
In the 18th minute, Pedro opened the scoring for the home team after calmly handling the ball and then finishing it off the far post into the net. In the 32nd minute, the Spanish striker continued to have a good chance. Receiving a pass from Diego Costa, Pedro calmly dribbled past the opposing goalkeeper but with an open goal in front of him, he finished off the crossbar and went wide.

Just before half-time, Michy Batshuayi scored Chelsea's second. From a counter-attack, Peterborough showed their immaturity when only two of their defenders were able to retreat into the penalty area while there were three attackers. As a result, Batshuayi comfortably received a pass from Pedro and volleyed home.
In the second half, it was Willian's turn to score. The Brazilian midfielder comfortably dribbled across the opponent's penalty area and then made his signature curling shot into the far corner.
While Chelsea were aiming for a comprehensive victory, in the 67th minute, defender John Terry received a red card for bringing down Lee Angol, preventing a dangerous attack from the visitors. Three minutes later, Peterborough had a goal to reduce the score thanks to a close-range tap-in from Tom Nicholls.

However, that was all the visitors could muster in the match. In the 75th minute, Pedro scored his second goal of the match, restoring Chelsea's three-goal lead. The match ended in a 4-1 victory for the team currently at the top of the Premier League table.
Terry's red card was the only disappointment for Chelsea in this match. The Stamford Bridge team regained joy after the defeat to Tottenham, which broke their 11-match winning streak. Chelsea players had the opportunity to relieve stress with many finishing shots in this match. In addition, young players such as Nathaniel Chalobah or Ruben Loftus-Cheek also had the opportunity to show themselves.
