(Baonghean.vn) - In mid-January 2017, in Ho Chi Minh City, the music talent search program 'Future Idol' began, and the 'child' artists from Nghe An also showed up very early to compete.

“Future Idol” is a reality TV show that searches for singing talents who love folk songs and are between 8 and 14 years old. The judges of the show are famous singers and artists such as People’s Artist Thu Hien, Quang Linh, and Cam Ly. The total prize value is up to 1 billion VND.

Participating in this program, Nghe An has 3 students: Bui Thi Tu Anh (12 years old) studying in class 6A, Nam Thanh Secondary School (Nam Dan), Pham Thi Phuong (14 years old) studying in class 8A, Tru Son Secondary School (Do Luong) and Ha Thi Nhu (13 years old) studying in class 7A, Phuc Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh).

All three of them are famous "child" artists singing Vi and Giam folk songs in the province, and have won high awards in competitions and performances such as the Sen Village Singing Festival and the Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival.

In 2016 alone, Pham Thi Phuong won the "Golden Voice" award in the Provincial Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival, the A prize in the Nghe An - Ha Tinh Inter-Provincial Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival, and also at this Festival, Ha Thi Nhu won the B prize.

To participate in the program “Future Idol”, the children all have to take 1-2 weeks off from school, do preparation work, and fly with their relatives to Ho Chi Minh City to practice.

All contestants participating in the program were arranged by the organizers to stay at a hotel in Go Vap district. Although they were far from home, participating in a singing competition, they all brought their books and notebooks to study culture. Pham Thi Nhu said that every day, teachers and friends at school often sent her lectures and exercises online, and if she encountered any unclear or ununderstanding issues, she could discuss them with her teachers online.

For parents, although the end of the year is quite busy with family work and farming, everyone tries to arrange time to take their children to the exam.

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, Nhu's mother, shared: "Her father went to work in Laos, so I had to take her there. At home, I sold all the pigs and chickens and asked my grandmother to take care of the house. The two of us "flew" here early so that she could get used to the environment." Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Pham Van Chin, Phuong's father, confided: "In the past few years, I have taken her to competitions several times a year, but this is the farthest time. Seeing her passion for singing, even though it is difficult, my parents have to support her."

After 2 days of exciting competition (January 14 and 15), 2/3 of the "child" artists from Nghe An made it to the next round, including Ha Thi Nhu and Pham Thi Phuong. Nhu was highly appreciated by the judges for her song "Ve Ha Tinh nguoi oi", while Phuong with the song "Dieu vi giam la em" was commented as "a person with a good voice but still needs to improve her performance skills". 42 contestants participated, after the first round, 18 contestants were eliminated.

Having advanced to the next round, Pham Thi Phuong could not hide her emotions: 'I entered the contest with the spirit of learning, testing and exploring. Now that the competition is over, I feel extremely comfortable. I am very happy to meet my friends again in the next round.' After the Lunar New Year, Ha Thi Nhu and Pham Thi Phuong will continue to "fly" to Ho Chi Minh City to compete in round 2.

It is known that the children's music talent search program "Future Idol" will be broadcast at 7pm every Saturday on HTV7, starting from March 11, 2017.
