Planting competition, closing the spring crop area

(Baonghean.vn) - After the happy days of Tet, farmers in the localities are actively planting and completing the spring crop. In Con Cuong district, at the beginning of the new spring, a rice planting competition is also held, while at the same time, scientific and technical advances are applied to agricultural production.

* Planting competitionis an annual activity organized by the Con Cuong District Women's Union in coordination with relevant departments and localities. Entering the competition, each team of 6 members will receive the same number of seedlings, go to the field assigned by the Organizing Committee, and then race to plant within a certain period of time. The team that finishes first, has a straight and beautiful planting line, and the seedlings firmly attached to the field will be the winning team.

This is the traditional festival of going down to the fields at the beginning of the year and is a unique cultural activity of the Thai ethnic people in the mountainous district of Con Cuong in particular, reflecting the wish for a good harvest and for all things to grow and flourish.

* In Anh Son districtFarmers have planted 1,761/3,348 hectares of spring rice, reaching 50% of the plan. Of which, nearly 50% are high-quality rice varieties such as Kinh So Uu 1588, 27P31, Nhi Uu 986, C Uu Da He, VT404, Huong Uu 98.

Faced with unusual weather developments, Anh Son district directed localities to closely follow the crop calendar and organize production to ensure closed sowing areas before February 15.

* In Quy Hop district,In more than 2,600 hectares of rice, 50% are hybrid rice varieties and 50% are purebred varieties. To ensure production is carried out on schedule, the District People's Committee has directed the communes to get quality seeds from reputable establishments that the District People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture to check the quality, documents, origin and quality of seeds before going into production.

Before the production season, localities have repaired irrigation works to ensure stable irrigation water for 100% of spring crop irrigation. According to the plan, Quy Hop farmers will finish planting before the 20th day of the first lunar month.

* This year's Spring crop, Tan Ky districtThere is a plan to plant 500 hectares of new forests of all kinds. In order to complete the planned targets, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district has directed units and localities to strengthen propaganda work to help people grasp the support policies of the state's forest planting projects.

The district has strengthened the guidance on technical procedures for planting, caring for, and protecting forests to every household. To provide seedlings for forest planting, units such as the Forestry Seed Service Cooperative and the Protective Forest Management Board have prepared more than 16 million seedlings of various types such as acacia, lat hoa, xan dau, and xoan dau to supply to people for forest planting in the Spring of 2017.

* Thanh Chuong District6,400/14,500 hectares were sown. In some localities such as Thanh Hung, Thanh Phong, Thanh Hoa... people went to the fields before Tet. After Tet, all localities went to the fields simultaneously. Thanks to the early preparation of land and field arrangement, favorable weather and the introduction of machinery, the progress was accelerated.
