The boat with the registration number NA90610 of fisherman Thai Van Hung in Dien Ngoc commune went out to sea for a day and had a big catch of 250 kg of yellow mullet. This is a delicious fish with high economic value. On this occasion, more than 400 boats of Dien Ngoc commune arrived at Lach Van fishing port. Despite the unfavorable weather, many boats still had a big catch of shrimp and fish.

Mr. Hung said: This trip was very lucky because we caught yellow scad. The selling price at the wharf was 140,000 VND/kg for traders, earning more than 30 million VND, after deducting expenses, we still got 20 million.

Each fishing boat of Dien Chau fishermen catches from 1 to 3 quintals of seafood during the day. The price of seafood at the beginning of the year increased by 20-30% compared to before Tet, so the income ranges from 5 to tens of millions of VND/trip.

The most harvested seafood is snails, mantis shrimp, iron shrimp, yellow mullet, and anchovy. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong at the fishing port said: On this trip, her family's boat caught more than 100 kilograms of iron shrimp, and sold them for processing into shrimp for nearly 10 million VND.

Since the beginning of February, fishermen in the coastal areas of Dien Kim, Dien Thinh, Dien Hai, and Dien Trung have been able to catch about 20 tons of sea shrimp and about 50 tons of jellyfish every day by raft. In one day, each boat can go out to sea to catch 2 trips, catching 1 - 1.2 tons of shrimp and 1 - 2 tons of jellyfish. With the current selling price, jellyfish is 70 - 80 thousand VND/quintal and shrimp is about 800 thousand VND/quintal, earning an income of 500 thousand - 1 million VND/trip.

Currently, Dien Chau has more than 1,400 boats, and every day, more than 5,000 fishermen in the district actively go out to sea to earn a fairly high income. The "bumper" fishing trips at the beginning of the year encourage people in coastal areas to continue working and producing.
