On February 16, the Criminal Police Department of Bac Lieu Province is temporarily detaining Le Thi Ly (41 years old, residing in Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, Kien Giang Province) to investigate the act of "robbery".

According to the investigation agency, on December 30, 2016, Ly approached and got to know Mr. Hinh Van D (50 years old, residing in Long Dien commune, Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province). Ly used the excuse of preparing to divorce her husband to get to know him, asking Mr. D to take her to Nam Hai Buddha Tourist Area (Nha Mat ward, Bac Lieu city) to play. On the way, Ly stopped to buy a pack of bird's nest drinks to drink.

Ly was detained for investigation.

After that, the two went to the embankment of Bao Toan tourist area to eat and drink, then Mr. D drove Ly home. On the way, Ly complained that she was tired and wanted to find a place to rest so that she could visit all of Bac Lieu in the afternoon. Mr. D drove Ly to Zaly motel (in group 4, ward 5, Bac Lieu city). Here, Ly secretly put sleeping pills in a can of bird's nest drink for Mr. D to drink. Just a moment later, while Mr. D was fast asleep, he was robbed of about 15 taels of gold he was carrying.

After Ly left the motel, Mr. D woke up at 5:00 a.m. the next morning in a daze. Afterwards, Mr. D went down to the reception desk and fell repeatedly because he was still tired. The motel staff reported to the police and took Mr. D to the emergency room. Through investigation, on February 10, the investigation agency urgently arrested Ly while he was hiding in a rented room in town 11 (An Minh district, Kien Giang province).

In addition to the anesthesia in Bac Lieu, Ly approached two men in Soc Trang and Kien Giang and robbed them of more than 7 taels of gold. Ly used the excuse of buying land, asked the victim for instructions, then invited them to drink and tried to anesthetize them to rob them of their property.
