After two days of meetings, the VFF Complaints Resolution Board announced that FLC Thanh Hoa captain Pape Omar Faye's sentence was reduced to a 6-match suspension.

On January 16, the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a decision to discipline player Pape Omar Faye. Accordingly, VFF fined 30 million VND and suspended him from the next 8 matches for his provocative and uncultured behavior towards the audience during the match between Sana Khanh Hoa - BVN and FLC Thanh Hoa football clubs in the second round of V-League 2017, which took place on January 14 at the 19/8 Nha Trang Stadium, Khanh Hoa.

Omar received a red card and provoked the audience on his way out of the field during the match between Khanh Hoa and FLC Thanh Hoa in round 2 of V-League 2017.

However, immediately after receiving this decision, FLC Thanh Hoa's Board of Directors expressed their indignation and quickly sent a document to the VFF Complaints Resolution Board asking for a reduction in the sentence.

After two days of meetings, the Appeals Board reviewed the relevant documents regarding the player's violation and decided to cancel the decision to suspend Pape Omar from the next 8 matches.

Instead, the captain of the Thanh Hoa team was only "suspended" for the next 6 matches, with the fine remaining at 30 million VND. This means that Omar will return to play for FLC Thanh Hoa starting from the 9th round of V-League 2017, taking place on March 10, 11 and 12.

This is good news for the Thanh team, because in round 9, they will have to play away at the "fire pan" Lach Tray of their direct competitor for the V-League championship this season, Hai Phong./.
