More than 4,600 billion VND has been granted in compensation for the Formosa case.

The Ministry of Finance has just temporarily allocated the second amount of money to compensate Formosa for damages to people affected by the marine environmental incident. The total of both compensations is 4,680 billion VND.

The Ministry of Finance has just temporarily allocated 1,680 billion VND for the second time to 4 localities from the amount of money that Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation paid to compensate people affected by the marine environmental incident.

Of the above amount, Ha Tinh province received 560 billion VND, Quang Binh province 760 billion VND, Quang Tri province 160 billion VND and Thua Thien - Hue 200 billion VND.

Previously, in the third quarter of last year, the Ministry of Finance advanced 3,000 billion VND in compensation to fishermen in the four provinces above. The total compensation for both periods was 4,680 billion VND. The source of funding was from Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation.
