Regarding the incident of an old woman who was allegedly knocked unconscious just because she stepped on a girl's foot in the Huong Pagoda area (My Duc, Hanoi) that caused a stir in public opinion on the afternoon of February 1, My Duc district police have the latest information.

Accordingly, on the evening of February 2, speaking with reporters, Colonel Le Xuan Van, Chief of My Duc District Police, confirmed that there was no story of a group of young men beating the old woman until she fainted.

Through verification, the old woman was from Ha Dong, Hanoi, the group of young men were from Nam Dinh. The incident happened because the old woman stepped on the foot of a girl in the group. After that, the two sides struggled, the girl's boyfriend caused the old woman to fall on the street. Immediately after that, the public order force asked both sides to go to the station to resolve the matter.

“The old lady filed a petition for reconciliation. The two sides have resolved the matter, and we have taken administrative action against the group of young people. Because they did not restrain themselves, an unfortunate incident occurred,” said Mr. Van.
