Teacher put knife to her neck because she couldn't find her child at school

Going to the kindergarten to find his wife and children but not finding them, a man in Tay Ninh put a knife to the teacher's neck because he thought that because of her, his family was broken up.

On March 3, Go Dau District Police (Tay Ninh) initiated a case and temporarily detained Nguyen Tan Phat (33 years old) for the act of illegal detention.

According to initial investigation, two afternoons ago, after coming home from drinking, Phat went to the kindergarten in Go Dau town. He went around the school looking for his wife, a teacher there but divorced, to talk about taking his daughter to her parents' house to play but could not find her.

A few minutes later, Phat suddenly pulled out a knife and held it to another teacher's neck, threatening to kill her because he thought the victim had instigated his divorce.

Police arrived and tried to rescue the hostage. After nearly 10 minutes of persuasion, he dropped the knife and released the teacher.

The incident caused many teachers and children to panic and scream.
