(Baonghean.vn) - "Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin should focus on solving domestic problems, not try to improve the work of international organizations" - Ms. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, spoke up.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin proposed stripping Russia of its veto power in the UN Security Council when making decisions related to Ukraine, citing Moscow's role in the conflicts in Donbass.

Mr. Klimkin said that the Security Council needs to be reformed because currently this body does not have a clear process to strictly implement the United Nations Charter.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister recalled Article 27, paragraph 3 of the UN Charter, which states that any country involved in controversial issues will not have the right to vote when the Council makes a decision. Mr. Klimkin said it was unacceptable that this item was being ignored by the Security Council.

He even accused Moscow of being the factor "inciting" conflicts in Europe with the aim of undermining "European and transatlantic unity".

Before Klimkin's statement, Ms. Zakharova emphasized: "I would like to advise Klimkin to first ensure that everything in the country is in order and that there are no problems, and then participate in 'improving the world'. Without Klimkin, international organizations still operate very well."
