Vietnamese female chess player causes shock at Women's Chess World Cup
Pham Le Thao Nguyen created a shock at the Women's Chess World Cup when she defeated a stronger opponent, Lela Zavakhishivili.

At the Women's World Chess Cup taking place in Tehran (Iran), Vietnamese female grandmaster Pham Le Thao Nguyen excellently defeated female grandmaster Lela Zavakhishivili (born in 1984 of Georgia, Rat 2455 TG) with a score of 1.5 - 0.5 (won 1 match, drew 1 match) and entered the second round.
This is a very encouraging achievement for Vietnamese chess when Thao Nguyen only has a Rat coefficient ranked 45th among all the athletes participating in the tournament while her opponent Lela Zavakhishivili is ranked 18th.
