Cua Lo improves service quality for tourists

Many restaurants along Binh Minh Street are recognized by the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town as meeting the standards of "civilized restaurants". Therefore, every year these restaurants always prepare carefully in all aspects to satisfy tourists coming to Cua Lo beach. A restaurant owner shared: "The service style of the staff is also trained and instructed thoroughly with a thoughtful and polite service attitude.

In addition, we always have fresh seafood available, with prices listed publicly and appropriately, without haggling or ripping off customers. The restaurant facilities are also renovated and upgraded every year to meet the increasing demands of tourists."

Thu Thuy is a key ward for tourism business development in the town, with a population of over 5,000, of which about 1,700 are employed in tourism business. The ward has over 130 business kiosks along the beach and nearly 140 hotels and motels serving food and accommodation needs.

In addition, the area also has a seafood market that attracts nearly 500 businesses specializing in selling fresh seafood to supply food to restaurants, hotels, and tourists. Annually, revenue from tourism accounts for 70-80% of the total production value in the ward.

Identifying the main revenue from tourism business, the local government as well as each household in the ward focuses on participating in urban beautification. At the same time, focusing on environmental sanitation, surveying and rearranging 4 garbage collection points on Binh Minh street according to the prescribed time, coordinating with the town to arrange 11 more pairs of public sanitation trash bins in the ward. In addition, in 2017, Cua Lo also focused on building new products such as cultural and artistic tourism (enjoying folk songs, Giam at the beach park), entertainment, sightseeing and organizing events at Vinpearl Cua Hoi tourist area. The coastal town strives to welcome 1 million 817 thousand visitors in the 2017 tourist season, an increase of 10% compared to 2016; bringing tourism service revenue to 1,633 billion VND, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year.

Talking to us, Mr. Vo Van Tho - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Cua Lo Town said: This year, Cua Lo continues to implement the project "Strengthening state management of tourism in the town for the period 2016 - 2020". Accordingly, tourism service business activities in the area are strictly controlled and transparent.

Strengthen strict management of prices, quality and food safety and hygiene. Require hotels and restaurants in the area to publicly post prices, and will check the prices of goods and services daily at the above establishments.

At the same time, direct the implementation of the "5 no" and "3 yes" policies, especially the issues of street vendors, 4-wheel electric vehicle services, and jet skis, ensuring security, order, and safety for tourists; strengthen inspection and handling of subjects committing commercial fraud, selling fake and poor quality goods to ensure the rights of tourists.

Along with the above contents, actively carry out the task of ensuring environmental sanitation, green - clean - beautiful urban landscape, strictly handle acts that damage the tourism landscape and environment. Strengthen the inspection of food safety and hygiene in the area, resolutely not let unsafe and poor quality food sources serve the people and tourists.
