Mark Zuckerberg announces he is expecting a second child

Mark Zuckerberg announced the good news on his personal page and he hopes this time it will be another girl.

According to USA Today, Facebook's CEO announced that he and his wife are expecting their second baby.

"After having trouble conceiving Max, we didn't know what to expect or if we would ever have another baby. When Priscilla and I first learned she was pregnant again, our first hope was that the baby would be healthy. Our second hope was that it would be a girl. I thought there was no greater gift than having a sister, and I hope Max feels the same way," Zuckerberg wrote.

Mark Zuckerberg has three sisters while his Chinese-born wife, Priscilla Chan, also has two sisters.

"We are better people because of the strong women in our lives, our sisters, our mothers, and our female friends. We are so excited to welcome our new member and will do our best to raise her to be another strong woman," he wrote.

Zuckerberg and his wife, both 32, have been open about the challenges of parenthood. The couple suffered three miscarriages before having Max. Their daughter is now 15 months old.

When announcing the birth of his first daughter to his wife in December 2015, the Facebook boss also announced that he would donate 99% of his Facebook shares to improve the quality of life for his daughter's generation.
