Donald Trump: Judge's decision is ultra vires

Mr. Trump called the decision of a federal judge in Hawaii an unprecedented abuse of power.

"This is an unprecedented abuse of power," Mr. Trump said in a speech in Tennessee. Donald Trump also called the court's decision "sad news."

Previously, US federal judge in Hawaii Derrick Watson decided to urgently block Trump's new immigration ban signed on March 6, just hours before it was to take effect.

Judge Watson said the state of Hawaii had shown a good chance of success in its claim that the order violated the US Constitution's prohibition against religious discrimination. Critics of the ban say it discriminates against Muslims.

Mr. Trump's new decree bans citizens from six major Muslim countries from entering the US for 90 days and stops the entire refugee program for 120 days.
