CNN has just published a series of information related to President Donald Trump's "profile" on the Internet with a series of website addresses related to his political career, business projects and even allegations about his behavior.

Before becoming the owner of the White House, billionaire Donald Trump's business group owned at least 3,643 websites.

During Mr. Trump's election campaign, the acquisition of these web addresses was extremely active, with about 93 of the web addresses owned by Mr. Trump being acquired during this time.

One of those web addresses is TrumpEmpire.com, a domain owned by a Mexican domain name speculator, engineer Luis Jorge O'Brien Covarrubias in Guadalajara.

He bought TrumpEmpire.com in April 2015 for $10, hoping to sell it someday for a much better price. While no one was interested, Mr. O'Brien didn't bother to update the site.

Mr. O'Brien had no idea that Mr. Trump's company had acquired the website address in June 2016 until CNN informed him about it. Now he regrets letting it fall into Mr. Trump's hands.

Buy before you need it

CNN investigated 20 years of Internet records using DomainTools, a tool that tracks the registration and transfer of domain names on the Internet.

Accordingly, they found that there were some domain names that were obviously acquired by Mr. Trump's company long before, such as TrumpOrganization.com and TrumpBuilding.org.

However, Mr. Trump also acquired web addresses that could be used against him, such as TrumpFraud.org and TrumpScam.com.

The Trump Organization and the White House did not immediately respond to CNN's questions about the collection of domain names.

In fact, Mr. Trump has a long-standing habit of always buying website addresses before needing to use them.

In the months leading up to the Trump Network launch in 2009, Trump acquired a series of websites including TrumpMultiLevelMarketing.com, TrumpNetworkFraud.com, TrumpNetworkPyramidScheme.com, TrumpNetworkPonziScheme.com and 15 others. He sold the business in 2012.

Mr. Trump also used similar measures to protect his Trump University when he bought the website address 98percentApproval.com in July 2013 when allegations about the school's real training quality arose in public opinion.

Proactively control online public opinion

Being involved in many lawsuits, Mr. Trump also proactively bought the website ImBeingSuedByTheDonald.com in 2009.

Mr. Trump's approach to acquiring domain names shows that he is very methodical in planning his political career.

In 2012, the Trump Organization acquired the websites VoteAgainstTrump.com, TrumpMustGo.com, and NoMoreTrump.com.

A few years later, Mr. Trump continued to buy two other websites, MakeAmericaGreatAgain.vote and MakeAmericaGreatAgain.us. Those website acquisitions were made just two months before Mr. Trump announced his second presidential run in June 2015.

According to internet records, the registration information for all 3,643 websites belongs to the Trump Organization's general counsel. The contact information listed is always an email address for the company's legal team.

Most of the websites acquired by the Trump Organization are just blank pages. Only about 50 of these domain names are actual Trump business websites.

In addition, 400 other sites indirectly link visitors to Trump’s main sites. But some also link visitors to strange places, like ChicagoTrumpLimo.com, which leads to a site selling Proud2bDeplorable shirts.

Mr. Trump's first website, DonaldjTrump.com, was purchased on January 20, 1997.
