More than 1,000 people donated blood in Dien Chau

(Baonghean.vn) - The first voluntary blood donation festival of 2017 in Dien Chau district was held on the morning of March 19, attracting the participation of more than 1,000 people.

Participating in the first blood donation were officials and people from 8 southern communes of the district, 24 schools and a number of agencies and units. Thanks to good propaganda work, officials, civil servants and the majority of people were aware of their responsibility to the community and volunteered to donate blood to save lives.

Thanks to that, although the first phase's target was to mobilize about 700 people to donate blood, striving to collect 350 units, more than 1,000 people participated with the amount of blood collected being 550 units. These units of blood will be transferred to Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, supplementing the blood reserve to save patients' lives.

According to the 2017 plan, Dien Chau will organize 5 voluntary blood donation campaigns, mobilizing 4,000 people to participate, donating 2,000 units of blood, an increase of 300 units compared to 2016./.
