Coach Claudio Ranieri was sacked by Leicester City at the end of February due to the team's poor performance this season. However, with what he did with Leicester City last season, he was still highly praised and was awarded the "Golden Bench" award by FIGC in a special ceremony at FIGC headquarters next Monday.
“During the ceremony, a special golden Benchmark will be presented to Claudio Ranieri, the protagonist of Leicester's extraordinary journey in the Premier League last season,” said the FIGC statement.
Previously, also with the achievement of helping Leicester City win the Premier League for the first time in history, Coach Ranieri won the BBC Sport Coach of the Year award and FIFA Coach of the Year award.
