During this period, a series of websites belonging to Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Rach Gia (all in Kien Giang province) and Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen province) international airports were also attacked by hackers. The websites of the airports were reportedly altered by hackers, leaving behind warning messages.

The Cyber Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security has launched an urgent investigation to clarify the matter.

The police have identified two individuals involved. Specifically, teenager LCKD (born in 2002, residing in Ward 15, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) is identified as having exploited a security vulnerability to attack and infiltrate the Tan Son Nhat airport website. Teenager PHH (born in 2002, residing in Trang Bom District, Dong Nai Province) is the person who attacked the websites of Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Rach Gia, and Tuy Hoa airports.

The Cyber Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the Dong Nai Provincial Police, summoned the two teenagers for questioning.

Initially, both admitted to the crime. They both stated that their motive for the attack stemmed from a desire for exploration, a wish to show off, and boasting about their achievements in the hacker community. D and H also expressed remorse and regret, pledging not to repeat the offense…

The behavior of the two teenagers was deemed very dangerous, but both confessed honestly, and especially since they are minors, the police proceeded with administrative sanctions, entrusting them to their families for education and supervision.

The Cyber Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security advises agencies and units to proactively review and check the security of their network systems, immediately fix security vulnerabilities, and take precautions against hacker attacks.
