During the year, the functional forces of Nghe An province detected and handled 162 violating vessels and boats; arrested 09 cases, 09 subjects of commercial fraud, seized 205.5 million VND; 255 kg of explosives; 108.5 kg of firecrackers; 200 detonators;...

In 2016, the situation in the East Sea in general remained quite complicated, with many unpredictable problems. However, the work of protecting national sovereignty and security at sea and order and safety in the Nghe An island area has seen many changes. Typical examples include the fight against foreign fishing vessels that violate the law; the building and strengthening of social security teams at sea; the handling of many violations of the purchase, storage, and use of explosives for seafood exploitation, and the theft of fishing gear; and the development of the marine economy in the fields of fisheries, tourism, and transportation has seen new steps forward.

At the conference, the Steering Committee also frankly acknowledged the remaining shortcomings and inadequacies. Because if people use this device, the coastal radar system of the force can easily misidentify, causing difficulties in patrolling and controlling; local authorities at all levels and departments and branches need to step up consulting and capital support for fishermen to build modern, high-capacity ships...

To successfully implement the work in 2017, comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee suggested: In the coming time, the Steering Committee needs to continue to promote propaganda work on protecting sovereignty, developing the economy, ensuring security and order of the sea and islands. Effectively handle the situation of using illegal exploitation methods to protect aquatic resources.

Along with that, promote the development of the marine economy through synchronous infrastructure investment projects; increase the number of ships and boats from the capital source of Decree 67; link socio-economic development planning with natural disaster prevention, climate change response, rescue and relief. To do so, the coordination between members of the Steering Committee to carry out the assigned tasks needs to be closer. In addition, strengthen the management of vehicles and workers when going to sea, thereby facilitating information gathering; incident handling; search and rescue; handling violations at sea if any...
