North Korean female soldier attracts attention with selfie

A North Korean female soldier received many compliments on her appearance after taking a selfie with a foreign reporter.

A small group of international journalists were invited to Pyongyang to cover last weekend's military parade and the daily lives of North Koreans.

Channel News Asia reporter Jeremy Koh took a selfie with a female North Korean soldier on April 16 and the photo received a lot of attention on Twitter.Many netizens have praised the female soldier's appearance.

"I don't know if it's the hat, the hairstyle, or the fact that she's not wearing any makeup, but overall she looks great," wrote Vince Vo.

"She's so cute, hope you get her number," commented someone named Don.

North Korea held a large-scale military parade last weekend to mark the birthday of its founder, Kim Il Sung. A series of weapons were displayed at a time of increasing US-North Korea tensions.
