Arrested subject transporting 340 million VND in counterfeit money

Taking advantage of the border trail, Phung Trung Tuyen (born in 1986), residing in Hat Lot town, Mai Son district, Son La province, illegally crossed the border and then transported counterfeit money into the country for consumption.

At around 1:00 p.m. on April 13, at landmark 1107, in Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station coordinated with the anti-drug and crime forces of the Lang Son Provincial Border Guard to catch Phung Trung Tuyen red-handed while illegally transporting a large amount of counterfeit Vietnamese money from China into the country for consumption.

Through investigation, Tuyen confessed to buying 340 million VND of counterfeit money at Lung Vai market, China with 60 million VND of real money, with the intention of bringing it back to sell for profit.

The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
