Russian cars return: UAZ Hunter under 500 million VND

3 Russian SUV models officially announced their selling prices, the most notable is still the UAZ Hunter for offroad enthusiasts.

The official distributor of 3 Russian SUV models has announced prices ranging from 460 million to under 700 million VND.

After 5 months of launching at the VIMS 2016 international auto show in Ho Chi Minh City, 3 legendary Russian car models were displayed at the exclusive distributor of UAZ.

UAZ officially launched the selling price in Vietnam.

Three models representing two segments are: Patriot – an all-terrain SUV; the legendary offroad 469 returns with a new form and name – Hunter; and Pickup – a Russian pickup truck.

Specifically, UAZ Hunter is the cheapest of the three models with a selling price of 460 million VND, developed from the UAZ-469 prototype born in the military, allowing exploration to any corner or off-road condition.

UAZ Hunter uses a 2.7 L gasoline engine with a maximum torque of 210 Nm, and a maximum capacity of 128 horsepower. The new engine of UAZ Hunter allows the use of up to 90% of torque in the range of 2,000-4,500 rpm, giving the driver unlimited capabilities in any driving situation.

Combined with this engine is a 5-speed manual transmission with an optimally selected gear ratio that makes the UAZ Hunter more comfortable on the road. Moving on the asphalt surface is really smooth and immediately controlling any type of terrain that requires off-roading with 4H, 4L gear settings.

The spring front suspension ensures flexible operation, increased passenger comfort and easy maintenance. The rear suspension with 3-leaf springs provides good load capacity and increased reliability when off-road.

Spacious rear trunk for easy cargo transportation thanks to the flexible second row of seats. Especially for transporting bulky goods, the second row of seats can be reclined in a 60/40 ratio or reclined 180 degrees.

Patriot in Vietnam is equipped with a 2.2l 4-cylinder inline diesel engine ZMZ-51432 with a capacity of 113 horsepower combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and Bosch electronic fuel injection system, helping the car reach a maximum speed of 135 km/h and fuel consumption of 11.5 liters/100 km.

In terms of safety, the standard version of the car has full airbags, ABS brakes, height-adjustable seat belts, front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

The UAZ Pickup is considered a twin brother of the Patriot, but is in the pickup segment with the difference coming from the rear bed. The selling price of this urban pickup is 566 million VND.

UAZ Pickup uses fabric-covered seats, plastic-covered dashboard and door panels. Interior LED lights with dome-shaped reflectors provide sophisticated lighting. In the Limited version, the available infotainment system has a 7-inch screen, 4 speakers, FullHD video playback, GPS/GLONASS, USB, MP3, AM/FM radio; supports Bluetooth and AUX. Vehicle amenities include manual air conditioning, electric windows, heated windows, seat cooling, electric rearview mirrors, and a rear camera.

In particular, on the gear lever base, next to the electronic gear knob, there is also a button to open the left and right fuel tank covers, increasing convenience.

UAZ Pickup imported to Vietnam is the Limited version, equipped with a 2.2-liter ZMZ-51432 diesel engine, 113 horsepower at 3,500 rpm, maximum torque of 270 Nm from 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. 5-speed manual transmission combined with 4x4 2-wheel drive system. UAZ Pickup has a maximum speed of 135 km/h. Fuel consumption is about 10 liters/100 km of mixed road and meets Euro 4 emission standards.

Safety equipment on the car includes airbags, ABS brakes, height-adjustable seat belts, front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Notably, the price of UAZ cars announced at this time has not been given the preferential import tax of 0% according to the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (VN-EAEU FTA). Therefore, UAZ cars are still subject to all import taxes, special consumption taxes and value added tax (VAT).
