Special equipment has been upgraded
According to PK-KQ Newspaper, RSBN-4N is a special and extremely important type of weapon, ensuring direct service to flight commanders and navigation in ground flight command and management areas.
After many years of use, most of the RSBN-4N automatic flight guidance radio stations have degraded, many spare parts have been used up, making it difficult to ensure technical coefficients.
Faced with that situation, with the task of majorly repairing information equipment, radar, and flight safety lighting; repairing command information equipment of the Air Force; producing supplies and spare parts for specialized information equipment of the Air Defense - Air Force and target aircraft, Factory A40 under the Air Defense - Air Force General Staff has improved the RSBN-4N stations.
The improved product not only extends its service life but also improves its accuracy, helping to provide full information to command posts at all levels (divisions, services, etc.) beyond the traditional scope of the station, which is to directly serve the flight regiment.
The main task of the RSBN-4N automatic flight guidance radio station is to serve the pilot on the aircraft as well as the commander and related units on the ground to ensure flight safety in training and combat readiness.
According to the catalog of the OPK Machine Building Corporation (Russia), the manufacturer of this special equipment, the original Russian RSBN-4N stations can ensure precise navigation for hundreds of aircraft at the same time at a maximum distance of 500km.

Receive more new generation equipment
It is known that, in parallel with the improvement of the RSBN-4N navigation stations upgraded by Vietnam itself, at the end of 2014, the news agencies RIA Novosti, TASS, and Sputnik (Russia) all reported that the United Equipment Manufacturing Company (OPK) of this country will provide Vietnam with new generation RSBN-4NM automatic flight guidance radio stations and PRMG-76UM landing radio landmark cluster.
Mr. Evgeniy Nikitin - Director of the Polyot radio plant (a unit under OPK) said: "OPK will provide Vietnam with new generation airport navigation systems, which are the RSBN-4NM automatic flight navigation radio station and the PRMG-76UM landing marker station cluster. These devices have no analogues in Russia.
This is the second contract of our Factory with our close partner in Vietnam in the past 3 years. According to the customer's request, the RSBN-4NM and PRMG-76UM systems have been tropicalized to ensure that our systems operate reliably in all climate zones, especially the hot and humid climate of Vietnam.
In the future, we will continue to sign contracts and provide other navigation and landing systems to Vietnam."
Most likely, the new generation RSBN-4NM stations will be given priority to equip units that are exploiting and managing the modern Su-30MK2 multi-role fighter line, ensuring synchronization when deploying, helping to ensure better flight guidance and absolute safety.
