(Baonghean.vn) - The route from the center of Mon Son commune to Lang Yen village(Con Cuong)About 8km long, running along the mountainside and the banks of the Giang River. Every rainy season, the road is seriously eroded, affecting the travel and circulation of goods of the people.

Whenever they encounter difficulties in a certain job, the people of Mon Son commune often compare it to “going to Lang Yen”. That means that the road to Lang Yen village is extremely arduous and difficult, always a challenge for everyone. As for the people in the village, on rainy and flood days, traveling is a real concern, because they often face the risk of landslides.

Lang Yen village is located on both banks of the Giang River, adjacent to Cao Veu village, Phuc Son commune (Anh Son), is home to nearly 190 Thai ethnic households, isolated from the central area. The main source of income for the people is agricultural and forestry production, mainly rice cultivation and raw material forest planting.

In recent years, the people of Lang Yen have received special attention from the State, including support for the construction of two suspension bridges for people by the Vietnam Road Administration (under the Ministry of Transport). These two bridges have been completed and put into use, helping the people here to reduce some of the hardships and difficulties in traveling. Students can go to school with more peace of mind, no longer having to cross the Giang River on wobbly rafts.

But the road from Lang Yen to the commune center is completely dirt, and crosses many rivers and streams, so it is bumpy and difficult. In particular, the section from Thai Hoa village to Lang Yen, about 4km long, is always in a state of landslides and mud. Every time it rains, the road surface is always covered with mud and slippery; there are sections where rocks and soil from the positive slopes slide down, causing traffic jams; there are sections where the negative slopes are eroded by water, leading to the risk of the road being cut off.

Along the way, there are many streams with temporary wooden bridges, the bridge surface has gaps due to broken wood, creating a "trap" for passersby. The two ends of the bridge abutments are eroded, the bridge can be washed away or collapse at any time. On this route, there are "black spots" that need to be alerted, such as the section near the Co Luom suspension bridge abutment, the road surface is only about 50cm thick, and is at risk of being cut off when there is heavy rain.

Or the border between Lang Yen village and Thai Hoa village below has a place where water has penetrated deep into the roadbed, which can collapse when it rains heavily or when heavy vehicles pass by. If there is no timely solution to repair and upgrade, sooner or later this road will be cut off.

Talking to us, Mr. Vi Van Tho - Head of Lang Yen village said: "The degraded road not only affects travel, but also limits the circulation of agricultural and forestry products of the villagers. I hope the commune and district will soon have a plan to repair and upgrade, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Lang Yen".
